wireless usb receiver driver

i have this wireless usb receiver...but i don't know what brand it is...coz i borrow ed it from my friend...i asked him...unfortunately he also doesn't know...long story short....my question is:

is there any universal driver..i mean driver that can work with any receiver for linux?i'm using FC4...and i know very little about wireless in linux

please could someone help me...

I don't think there is such a think as a universal wireless driver in any OS. The closest thing in Linux is ndiswrapper, but even then you need the appropriate Windows driver.

Probably the best thing to do is plug the card in and run lsusb in a console and see if you can get any info on that card.
