wireless usb adapter not working in Debian on Segate Dockstar
I'm trying to get an Airlink 101 AWLL6075 working in Debian 2.6.32-5-kirkwood running on a Seagate Dockstar.
It appears to be seen at bootup...
dmesg outputs:
25.110813] usb 1-1.1: new high speed USB device using orion-ehci and address 3
[ 25.223022] usb 1-1.1: New USB device found, idVendor=0bda, idProduct=8172
[ 25.229933] usb 1-1.1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
[ 25.237292] usb 1-1.1: Product: RTL8188S WLAN Adapter
[ 25.242489] usb 1-1.1: Manufacturer: Manufacturer Realtek
[ 25.248000] usb 1-1.1: SerialNumber: 00e04c000001
[ 25.254115] usb 1-1.1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
and
lsusb outputs:
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0bda:8172 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8191S WLAN Adapter
My attempts to install the driver and firmware for it haven't yeilded any success. The dmesg doesn't indicate that it can't find the firmware nor does it seem to be initializing the driver in the first place. I don't know if I'm interpreting the log wrong or what. I don't know why the adapter is showing up as RTL8191S and RTL8188S or if that matters.
If anyone could shed some light on what I need to do to get the adapter working I'd appreciate it. Scouring google for answers has only found people with different problems.
