Ubuntu wifi card installation


Hi, this is the first time i install linux i choose the ubuntu distribution and i can't find the way to install my wifi card, i've tried with the official cd installation but no resolution, and no solution also in the website.
My wifi card is "Belkin Pre-N card" with pci adapter, please help me to brake windows chains...tnx for relpy

Well if you read the page in the link you will find this link https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HardwareSupp...ssNetworkCards which shows you how to identify your chipset for whatever card you have. Once you know the chipset you can then decide if it is already supported in Ubuntu or whether you need ndiswrapper to install the windows driver. If you are still stuck post the output of lspci here.

Maybe jumping the gun here but if you dont already know here's how to set up your card if it has already been recognised - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WirelessNetworking , you might be really lucky and its there already.

i've discovered that the model number is F5D8000 and that is not on the Ubuntu list, so....

Well there is success reported here http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...=379814&page=3 by linuxwannabe916 so get a hold of the Netgear driver thats linked there and follow this to get ndiswrapper installed and you should be good to go - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WifiDocs/Dri...iswrapperHowto
