Static entries for wlan card?

Is there a way to set static entries for my usr5420 usb adapter?

Like for eg:

ESSID=static

wireless_mode=adhoc

dhcp=yes

etc.

Whenever I bootup to Slackware linux 10.1 (2.6.11.6) It always set's

the ESSID to 'any'.

Nevermind I got it. All I had to do was edit rc.wireless.conf.
