Unhappy Problems with connecting Ubuntu 10.04 to TrendNet wireless router TEW-432BRP

I formatted my ACER ESPIRE laptop (CELERON processor) and installed Ubuntu 10.04. I actually do not know how to make internet connection from this system. Previously I had Ubuntu 8.10, it was getting automatically connected to my router. Please help me out as I need to update my system as soon as possible.

If you don't know what you're doing, wireless is not the easiest thing to lash together. Can you try a Cat 5 network cable and use that?
