noob :) yoper- almost wireless with dwl-g510

ok..I am a linux beguinner...I looked all over the place and found some "how to" tried to follow the instructions but it seems that I am missing something..

In a desktop I installed yoper (love it and tried to install and configure the wireless netcard dwl-g510:

Installed the driver and when I enter in a bash shell "ndiswrapper"

I get "mrv8k51 present"

then I do modprobe ndiswrapper and the kwifimanager shows the green bars stating that the card is active...

after that I tried all what I could find but not go

I have changed the router to static and tried all the configs that I read in the net but I can't get a connection...

I think that I don't have an IP address yet even though I run the ip configuration in the yoperconf, netcardconfig...

Please help so I can troubleshoot the ip "binding" to the card.
conection speed green bar is showing the right speed ( 54Mbits)
Thanks.

EDITED:

in the yoper wifimanager I have:
Signal strenght: 100

the connection speed green bar is showing the right speed ( 54Mbits)

Access point: ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff

Local IP: unavailable

Frequency [chanel]: ? [0]

Please help ...I am almots there...I will keep searching meanwhile....

EDITED:

seems that I should have a file called ifcfg-wlan inside of /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts and I don't "http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?postid=854804"

I will try to make one and will post the results

EDITED:

made one ifcfg-wlan0 instead of ifcfg-wlan and set the boot to NO in ifcfg-eth0 and got a mac and name from the wireless router , frequency channel but got no IP yet...
I will keep looking but if anybody can post the fix I would appreciated very much...see.. I only now little from linux....

Try
Code:
dhclient wlan0
to obtain an IP using the DHCP server.

Thanks for your reply. I will try it and post the results.

SO far I thought that dhcp was not good for this card so I set it up as static but no go.

Now I iwll try your advice.

thanks again.
