Need wifi card for Fedora Core 6

Hello out there. I am relatively new to Linux, running Fedora Core 6 on a Dell Latitude D620. There is only one thing keeping me from ditching windows all together, and that is I can not get my current wireless card working. According to many sites, you have to download ndiswrapper to get it working. I do not want to do that. I would much rather buy a wireless card that just works with Linux. What I would like to know is if anyone out there knows of a good PCMCIA wifi card (802.11g) that will be recognized by Fedora Core 6? Apparently there are some out there, but most vendors are not willing to give up their chipset information on their websites. Anyone know of any makes and models that will work with my distro?

Thanks for any info.

If you want opinions (I like Atheros-based ones), ask here, if you OTOH want to base your purchase based on facts, check the LQ HCL.

Luckily it's not some distro-specific issue. You just need the Madwifi drivers (with FC6 it's just two RPM's), Wpa_supplicant (one RPM, for WEP/WPA-based authentication) and two configuration files and that's it.
