ndiswrapper and 2.6.9

I just recently installed kernel 2.6.9 on a gentoo system and i use ndiswrapper for my Atheros card in my alienware laptop.

I rebooted and everything came up fine...the only problem is when i try to do a modprobe ndiswrapper it says FATAL: Module ndiswrapper not found.

i did a depmod -a and tried rmmod ndiswrapper then modprobe ndiswrapper but still the same thing.

when i did a rmmod ndiswrapper i got the error ERROR: Module ndiswrapper not found in /proc/modules.

I did do an emerge --unmerge ndiswrapper and emerge ndiswrapper and reinstalled it completely after I compiled my new kernel.

Anyone have any idea on why this isnt working?
