Name resolution not working on Linux wireless networking

Using a NetGear WG511T card with the madwifi driver on a laptop running Fedora Core 1 to connect to my home wireless network, name resolution does not work at all. DHCP seems to set everything up correctly, including the name servers in /etc/resolv.conf and the default gateway. I can connect to other hosts using the IP address, but using hostnames results in a name resolution failure.

Also: the same computer and card work perfectly with my home wireless network when running XP, and it also works perfectly under Linux at work, or using ethernet at home.

Any suggestions?

Here is another point that is probably relevant.
Both of the DNS servers set by DHCP are outside the local
domain, so maybe it's a firewall issue? Also, I can
successfully ping them.
