Hey guys. For years I have attempted and attempted to get linux working but have always failed, but today I actually managed to get online and connect to website, check my email etc on linux for the first time ever...... then I restarted and couldnt remember how I got it the last time
I am using SlackWare linux and a Belkin Wireless card.
In Windows I can set everything up fine it's just Linus takes a while getting used to.
We have a router and my static IP should be 192.168.2.11 with a Gateway of 192.168.2.1. Pretty standard I guess.
Basically I need some guidance to how to tell me Linux these variables.
Linux recongnises I have a card and like I said before I restarted I somehow managed to get on the internet.
This is probably really easy to do and I just don't know because I am a newbie.
I really have no good experiance with Linux so please be patient with me. I would just love to know how I can get onto the internet.
Thanks for the help guys
Mark
