modprobe ndiswrapper interferes with keyboard

I am attempting to install ndiswrapper to get my wireless card working (belkin fsd6020 ver. 3) but whenever I run "modprobe ndiswrapper" my keyboard starts acting funny. First I notice that there is a delay when typing, almost like the computer is working very hard. Next it will act as if a key is stuck. i.e. it will enter "nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn" but much longer. Has anybody experienced this? Can somebody help me out here? I am running slackware 10 with 2.4.26 kernel on a dell inspiron 1000.

sort of

My computer started to slow down conciderably with the ipw2200 driver, this turned out to be my router malfunctioning, when I turned of my router, the computer went back to normal function.

...just searching through my own threads and realized this thread is relatively pointless without any resolution

The problem was the ndiswrapper version. I think I actually had to use an older version. Essentially once I loaded the module things just got whacky. Finicky program that ndiswrapper is...
