I have a desktop computer running Red Hat 9, and a
wireless network in my house. I also have a D-Link DWL-500
(a PCI holder thingie with a DWL-650 nested in it).
When I boot, the "detecting new hardware" stage
does not appear to notice the card at all, and from this
and other forums, I understand that gotchas abound
with the DWL-650.

So. I'm willing to write off the DWL-500 (sell it on ebay).
All I want now is a definitive list of PCI (desktop) wireless cards
that I can be SURE will just work on RH9, will be
autodetected fine, and just show up in all the right menus and stuff.
It is astonishing to me that a list of such cards isn't
easily available, least of all on the Red Hat web site.
Just name the cards, and I'll run out waving my Visa card
and buy one . . .
