Linksys WUSB11 V.3 Install Failure

I found in the prism faq that the Linksys WUSB11 v.3.0 requires the ATMEL driver. The latest release at sourceforge for the atmel driver appears to be corrupt, so I grabbed the latest snapshot and compiled and installed it. When I plugged in my USB device I did not get the full output expected from dmesg. This is what I got:

hub.c: new USB device 00:0b.0-2, assigned address 4
usb.c: USB device 4 (vend/prod 0x1915/0x2236) is not claimed by any active driver.
usb.c: registered new driver usbvnetr
usb vendor/product=1915/2236

...and then it just stopped, no further info was given.

lsmod shows the usbvnetr loaded as well as uhci. I have removed usb-uhci module to avoid any conflicts

iwconfig returns:

lo no wireless extensions

and that's it. This doesn't jive with the material I have read. Can anyone tell me what is wrong here?

Thanks

SYSTEM: Red Hat 9.0 Kernel 2.4.20-8
