Linksys wireless g/ndis probs in madrake 10

Well, I've been trying to configure my mandrake 10 comp to go along with the rest of my network, and I'm having problems. I followed all the steps provided by the sourceforge instrustions, and once I got to where I am now, I got stuck. I've installed the drivers, and now I'm trying to use iwconfig to configure my card to run on my network.
Whenever I try iwconfig, i get

o no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

sit0 no wireless extensions.

And if i try wconfig wlan0 essid ESSID, with my SSID instead of ESSID of course, I get

Error for wireless request "Set ESSID" (8B1A) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; No such device.

Any kind of help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Perhaps this would be better in the wireless networking forum.

What is your card _exactly_ (model, mark and chipset if you have it)? Which drivers do you installed, exactly?
So far for what I can see from your post, your system is not recognizing your card.

Randrake, this is what i get when I run ndiswrapper -l

Installed ndis drivers:
bcmwl5 driver present, hardware present

Half_Elf

Its a Linkys WMP54GS. Broadcom Corporation BCM94306 802.11g chipset.

And I have the bcmwl5 drivers installed, the ones that come from the factory cd, which happen to be the ones recommended by the ndiswrapper driver list.

Did you have any errors on the rest of the ndiswrapper install, loading module, starting at boot, etc...?
What does ifcfg-wlan0 say?
Did you type "wconfig" or "iwconfig" or is it a typo?
