Keyboard hangs after 'iwlist wlan0 scan'

Versions:

SuSe 9.1
kernel 2.6.4-52
kernel-source 2.6.4-52
ndiswrapper 0.6-23
Linksys WMP54G v4 (driver: rt2500.inf)

Here are the steps I followed to install the driver

1. ndiswrapper -i Rt2500.INF
2. modprobe ndiswrapper
3. iwlist wlan0 scan
4. iwconfig wlan0 essid [myssid]
5. ifup wlan0
6. ndiswrapper -m

The first time I did this everything was fine, the interface was up, the card light was on, and it received an IP from the router. But I noticed in ifconfig that the broadcast address was not the routers. So just to check, I pinged google. Instantly Konsole started wigging out. The screed scrolled uncontrolably with 'Network host unreachable' peppered here and there.

I couldn't close or stop the Konsole, it just kept on going, so I manually rebooted the computer. Now everytime I input 'iwlist wlan0 scan' the card light will come on and my PS/2 keyboard will instantly stop working, PS/2 mouse is ok though.

Upgrading ndiswrapper is not an option. I tried and ran into a whole slew of problems just getting it to install.

The above doesn't matter. I was able to solve it, but now I have other problems.
