installing rt2500 in Suse 10.1

I am having a hard time getting my rt 2500 mini PCI card working in Suse. I have followed the instructions at http://linux.wordpress.com/2006/05/1...-rt2500-wi-fi/
and get as far a ~> make at which point I get an error message sayinig that -bash: /root: is a directory. I am so new to all of this that I have no idea what the error message is trying to tell me. Hopefully it isn't GIVE UP!

Any ideas or other approachs I might take to get this wireless card working?

thank you, Tim

Using the source above I was able to get Linux to see my wireless nic and it tries to connect. So far it hasn't connected. KNetworkManager get about 28% there and gives up. So I guess I need to do more thinking on it.

Same problem

I am facing the same problem....I've managed to install the driver for rt2500, everything is OK with the hardware, and yet it doesn't connect to the access point...
