By default if you plug a USB stick with a wireless adapter to linux nothing will happen, so don't worry - everything is under controll.
If you want to check if the hardware is recognized at all, type from the
console :
The easiest and the most convinient way is to use 32bit windows driver for your USB wireless with NDISWRAPPER.

If you have a 64bit version of SUSE and you were not provided with 64bit
version of the driver, wou will have to reinstall the system into 32bit mode.
