Install USB wireless adapter help

I have a laptop that I use periodically with SLED 10. The laptop does not have built in wireless, nor can I use a card. (company built IBM Think pad T40 lap top and I have no administrator rights. I use Suse on a separate hard drive)

I wanted to buy something that I could use on both xp and suse. I bought a linksys wusb54g. When I plug it into the computer with suse operating, absolutely nothing happens.

Any thoughts to how I could get this running?

Hi Harjim,

By default if you plug a USB stick with a wireless adapter to linux nothing will happen, so don't worry - everything is under controll.

If you want to check if the hardware is recognized at all, type from the
console :
Code:
lsusb
The easiest and the most convinient way is to use 32bit windows driver for your USB wireless with NDISWRAPPER.
Please visit:

http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Ndiswrapper
http://en.opensuse.org/Ndiswrapper_howto

If you have a 64bit version of SUSE and you were not provided with 64bit
version of the driver, wou will have to reinstall the system into 32bit mode.

Best Regards,
OOZIE
