In which layer 802.11 frameas get converted t 802.3 frames

I read in one white paper that when 802.11 frames are reveiced at wireless NIC, these gets converted to 802.3 frames by the time it reached to Application layer. Do any one knows at which layer these get converted to 802.3 frames...
Regards
Pavan

May be. I mean frame here the raw data reveiced at WNIC (offcourse NIC works at L2). So is it device driver of NIC that do conversion or some other layer exists that does it.

James.
