Hmm - cryptic. Problem is you can't install new drivers on Knoppix, as the CD is read-only.

What does 'lsusb' tell you?

here s the thing: i am really really new in linux. i have only heard lots and lots of things about it and i has captivated me.
this is what i do: i go on to the taskbar and press that little pinguin (KNOPPIX) and then go to network/internet.
i select network card config and i have 2 options: wlan0 and eth0. i choose wlan0. i enter my ip, network masg, default gateway, brodcast address, and name server and hit OK. it starts checking, it pops up some nu such device signs and then it closes as if nothing had ever happened.
think u could help?
