Help me configure my wireless card (Atheros)

Hey there! I have an acer 7520G. I am trying to make my Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter work on ubuntu linux.
Running lspci i have found that the ath_pci module is loaded on. I cant find though the wireless interface on System->administration->networking dialog menu. I have tried also the command iwconfig which didnt work ! Most of the guides i have found they assume that the network adapter is recognizes by ubuntu! What should i do ? I think that the wireless card module is loaded but i cant find-configure anywhere my device.
Any clues?

To get mine to work using MiniMe I had to: Blacklist the loaded driver, use ndiswrapper to install the winblows driver, then use modprobe to load it.

What has helped me (but i cant take credit)

Here are instructions; they require an active internet connection, so walk your computer over to the router and hook up the ethernet. Open a terminal and do these commands, each in order and in turn.
Code:

sudo apt-get install build-essential linux-headers-generic
wget http://snapshots.madwifi.org/madwifi...current.tar.gz
tar zxvf madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6-current.tar.gz
cd madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6-r3835-20080801/

The file name will change as the current build changes. Just watch what the file is that is extracted.
Code:

make
sudo make install
sudo modprobe ath_pci
sudo reboot

Your wireless should now be alive.
