having no sucess with installing WUSB11 2.5

Today I just got Linspire and installed it (Keep in mind his is the first Linux distribution I've ever used). Then I got my driver CD for Linksys WUSB11 2.5 and saw that it was an EXE so I went to the Linksys website and found a driver for Linux there. I opened it up and saw it was a bunch of C source so I looked at the README. I entered the command line things it said to but one of them didn't work. In step 4, it says type 'make config' and some questions will pop up inculding if you want to build some drivers. The problem is, nothing poped up.

I would put a link to the place I downloaded it from but it says I need five posts before I can post a link.

Did you get any errors? Can you post the name of the driver?

No, I didn't get any errors, it just didn't do what the README said it should.

The name of the tar.gz is linux_wlan_ng_0114_pre1.tar.gz

I don't know that driver but other around here do use it. However if it's a .tar.gz file can't you install it like this:

Code:
./configure
make
make install
Maybe ./configure has options you want. Check "./configure --help"

Maybe that works

Haha! The problem was I was using "Run command..." instead of "Open terminal" But now I have another problem, look at the last thing I entered.

Code:
VPR-Matrix-Linspire:/WUSB11 2.5 driver/linux-wlan-ng-0.1.14-pre1# make config

-------------- Linux WLAN Configuration Script -------------

The default responses are correct for most users.

Build Prism2.x PCMCIA Card Services (_cs) driver? (y/n) [y]: y

Build Prism2 PLX9052 based PCI (_plx) adapter driver? (y/n) [n]: y

Build Prism2.5 native PCI (_pci) driver? (y/n) [n]: y

Build Prism2.5 USB (_usb) driver? (y/n) [n]: y

Linux source directory [/usr/src/linux]: /usr/src
Linux source tree /usr/src is incomplete or missing!
See the HOWTO for a list of FTP sites for current kernel sources.

Configuration failed

make: *** [config] Error 1
VPR-Matrix-Linspire:/WUSB11 2.5 driver/linux-wlan-ng-0.1.14-pre1#
NOTE: There's no HOWTO.

What's in brakets is was is recommended. I didn't enter /usr/src/linux since the directory doesn't exist so I tried /usr/src instead. I also tried file:/usr/src and file:/usr/src/linux

The problem is that you don't have the linux kernel source files there. You need to install them the way your distro does.
