difficult to connect through wireless on my redhat laptop

I just install Oracle Linux (3.8.13-16.2.1.el6uek.x86_64) on my laptop. the LAN is working by connecting LAN Cable directly. All my efforts to make the wireless work yield no success.
Using the command lspci, i got "Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11bgn Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01)" as the model of the wireless adoptor.
i will be glad if someone can help me with the driver and how to go about it.

is oracle linux and redhat the same thing (not sure) ? are you paying for onsite support (maybe you should call their technical support).

this diag info mite be a good start:

Oracle linux is a rebuild of the SERVER operating system from redhat BUT it is optimized to run Oracles Database on SERVERS

it has rather limited LAPTOP support
as in it was NEVER designed for use on laptops and if it runs on the hardware it is just by chance ( mostly)

oracle has there own documentation but i think you have to actually buy the support contract to use it
the redhat docs are open to everyone ( BUT might be a bit different than Oracle)
https://access.redhat.com/documentation
https://access.redhat.com/documentat...ide/index.html

also be aware that the 6 series is a bit older

The CURRENT is RHEL 7.1 or Oracle 7.1

there will be a bit MORE support for newer hardware in the 7.1 OS than in the older 6.7 operating system

BUT!!!

CentOS has better desktop and laptop support than RedHat and Oracle do

for RHEL and OEL you really do need to buy the support contract

Your chipset isn't supported by the b43 drivers, as noted here. The easiest way to fix this would be to swap out that one for one that is supported.
