couldn't prepare driver

Hi guys,
I am a fresh linux user who have installed ubuntu 9.10 today with lot of excitement. The only issue is that my network devices are not recognized by Ubuntu. I have Acer 6930 machine with Vista 64 bit with WIFI Link 5100 wireless modem.

Initially, I did not have the GUI screen for WIFI Drivers which I got it installed through ndiswrapper installation. I was able to install netw5v64 driver as well but without much success. Both my ethernet adapter and WIFI adapter are not recognised. I could not get net connectivity due to this. I am seeing a lot of forums similar to this. But there is no clear cut steps explained by anyone to solve this problem. In the message log, I could see an entry 'could'nt prepare driver 'netw5v64'. Any help?

Regards,
Fareej
