Cant load with DNS only IP address

Hi

I get connected to wifi internet with wlan but cant connect to websites with DNS can only do it with IP address. Need help please as i am having to resort to XP and I hate that. It's been a while now.

knetwork manager didnt fix the problem

It sounds like your nameserver is not being set correctly. Check to make sure that you have a valid nameserver in /etc/resolv.conf.

I checked the nameserver and used one that i am sure is working but no changes.
I decided to get back on pcmcia and now even that is not working.
i have no idea where i might have messed things up cause i was also trying to
fix X server to get beryl up and running again, that didn't work either

Is there anyway to track the network problem;
I am at the stage of considering a kubuntu re-install even though i would
much prefer to find and fix the problems,

suggestions please!!
