Can't connect to encrypted wireless (WPA-PSK + TKIP)

I first tried NetworkManager, but since it returns no information as to why it fails, it wasn't any help. I just tried wicd instead, which got me this (after a couple other quick status messages I can't remember):

networkname: Validating authentication
None: Validating authentication...
None: Obtaining IP address...
networkname: Obtaining IP address...
None: Obtaining IP address...
Connection Failed: Unable to Get IP Address

When I was on a college campus recently, I was able to connect to unencrypted wireless just fine (I was using NetworkManager at the time). But now that I'm home, I can't connect to my parents' wireless router, which is encrypted (WPA-PSK + TKIP).

Any ideas?

I'm using Fedora 12 with LXDE (and GNOME) on an Eee PC 900. wicd can connect to the wired network just fine, just not our wireless... Wait. There's an unsecured wireless signal from someone around here... Which can't I connect to either due to the same IP issue. Huh.

EDIT: Um. NetworkManager just started working... I'm now able to connect to the wireless here. I don't know why, but... at least it works.

WICD has log file /var/log/wicd/

So you can enable debug log and check what is going wrong.

I hope that you tell WICD to use the same encryption, and gave it password?
