Backtrack 4 ifconfig wlan0 up not working


Hi'
at Backtrack 4 final i can see my interface wlan0 with iwconfig. its a builtin intel card on a asus laptop. but ifconfig wlan0 up gives error

SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such file or director

ifconfig doesnt show wlan0 so i cant connect to wireless.
how can i fix this

May be, there is not firmware for wireless card, only driver?
