AP no connect with iwconfig

I have a BCM4318 card under arch linux x86_64 kernel 2.6.19, using ndiswrapper, I try iwconfig wlan0 essid "2WIREXXX", iwlist wlan0 scan, iwconfig wlan0 mode Managed, iwconfig wlan0 key restricted XXXXXXX and nothings happen, iwconfig wlan0 shows:

essid= any/off mode=Managed key=restricted AP=00:00:00:00:00

anyone knows what can I do?

Does it work without a WEP key?
Is the SSID being broadcast? If not, turn it on.
Try without the restricted mode.
