802.11a-i explaination(s)? Curiosity is all..

Just wondering what 802.11a-i are? I've heard of 802.11b, Airport I think it was termed.

What do these mean? I am guessing it's wireless technology, but what? And where do they get the 802.11 and the letters after?

Thanks for any info, links, or brutal attacks

Cool
