Yes, I know that USB is a bad way to connect...but right now, its my only option.
I have a 2Wire HomePortal 1800HG
It is connected to one Windows ME computer with ethernet
One dual boot Fedora Core 3/ Windows ME system with wireless (I got the wireless drivers working in FC3 with ndiswrapper)
A laptop using Windows XP with wireless
I am trying to connect another FC3 computer through USB straight to the router (not the usb adapter to phoneline to router type thing)
On booting the configuration wizard thing recognizes and configures the USB connection to the 2Wire HomePortal and it is recognized in hardware browser. But, what now? I tried installing what I thought were the proper drivers from
this site using ndiswrapper. It went well until I tried to modprobe and got "FATAL: Moduel ndiswrapper not found."
-Do I need to use ndiswrapper to install drivers for this device?
-Am I trying to install the wrong drivers?
Thanks,
Matt
Thanks a ton to everyone, without all your help I would still be using Windows *shudders*
