Due to my super fast internet with limited bandwidth (10GB through my smartphone), all my heavy downloading is done either through my ISP provider's hot spots or elsewhere. A couple years ago or so when I decided to reinstall Windows 7 on the old box I decided it would be faster to put it together in VMWare then transfer it over.

Of course, with Windows 10 taking precedence when it comes to Microsoft servers pumping out updates, and Windows 7 requires a ton of updates to bring it current, and it's retarded as a result of being at the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to being served, the thought of spending a day or so somewhere else applying updates through Windows update was not appealing.

So I downloaded WSUS Offline Update and set it to get the update packages, then went home and let it install them, way faster than Windows update. Too bad wsusoffline also pulled the plug on Windows 7, for folks like you anyway, I still have my 64bit collection, it's 3.4GB worth.
