VirtualBox , after Fedora 12 update

i was able to install virtualbox on fedora 12 ( what an adventure)
and i dont want to mess it up again, i need it for this semester at school
,if i do an update, how do i fix it? im sure it wont start and complain about kernel being recompiled . i read this issues in other forums.

what can i do to ensure virtualbox wont get messed up by yum update ?

As far as I'm aware the only time VirtualBox needs to recompile its modules is when a new kernel is installed. This happens automatically when I reboot my system, I'm not sure if the same holds true for yours. As a precaution I export my virtual machines just in case things do go wrong.

Good advice about exporting machines and yes a module recompile should only be required with a new kernel. Although not all distributions will auto recompile them.
