Not able to install oracle Vbox 4.0.4 on physical disk partioned as ext2,3 on ubun-10

Hi, Dear all!
I tried to install Virtualbox 4.0.4 on ubuntu10.10. Following error was shown on window "Dependency is not satisfiable: libqt4-network (>= 4:4.5.3)". I failed two times once after installing ubuntu as ext-2 and second time ext-3. I don't know, How to overcome this problem?

It has nothing to do with your file system choice, although I do wonder why you chose ext2 instead of ext4 but that is beside the point.

If you are trying to install it through VirtualBox's own repository you are going to have a difficult time. Your best option right now is to choose a lower version like virtualbox-ose.

You have got a clear message about missing dependency. Did you try to install libqt4-network with proper version? Is there a problem with this install?

I also recommend virtualbox-ose, I use it for long time. But you have to compile kernel modules yourself, AFAIK.

Just checked the Ubuntu package page for libqt4-network and Maverick (10.10) has 4:4.7.0-0ubuntu4 and Maverick updates has 4:4.7.0-0ubuntu4.2

My suggestion is you download it from the link above, install it, and then try installing Virtualbox

libqt4-network should be in standard repositories for Ubuntu 10.10, so you can install it through your package manager like synaptic, apt-get, whatever.
