Linux fdisk -l detects disk 1 TB as 500 GB only

Hi,

In one of the LINUX VM I have added 1.5 TB Disk to RHEL 5.6 server.
After adding and scanning the same fdisk -l shows only 500 GB.

Please let me know what is the tweak to fix this issue.

Thanks
Rajan

What tools were used to partition the disk in the first place? If the partition table is GPT, then fdisk will not show the correct partition values. It will only show one partition.

See this link if you are not familiar with GPT.
