Cannot export vboxsf mounted by guest as nfs from guest
Ok, basically just what the title says. Here's my setup:
Code:
host0 shared folder
\->mounted on guest as /dir
guest0 mounted dir
\->export /dir as /nfs/dir = "does not support NFS export"
The last thing on the virtualbox website is from like 3 years ago. Is this error a limitation on NFS itself, or is this indeed something to do with vbox? I don't want to mount the directory as smb/cifs either.
This doesn't sound like a question that's specific to virtual machines. The question seems to be whether it's possible for nfsd to reexport an NFS directory.
I couldn't find a definitive answer, but man 5 exports says, "The file /etc/exports contains a table of local physical file systems on an NFS server that are accessible to NFS clients." That seems to say no.
Yeah, I figured that would be the most likely answer. Kind of sucks that it works with SMB, but not NFS. I guess I'll have to use my VM host for doing NFS serving as well. Not ideal, but I guess it works.
