install fest advertising?

hello

thought you might have some ideas or experience to share ..

i'm a college student in toronto, canada. we have install fests every semester but they are getting too slow. only about 5 clients showed up to the last one.

i really can't find an explanation for this (unless it's my presence that drives people away ). is linux getting too easy to install or are people less interested?

anyway, i got permission to open the install fest to the public and i have no clue about how to let people know about it. the next one will be in september so i still have some time to advertise. i could use some advice about advertising to the students too. our campus is small but we have a university campus for a neighbour so maybe i can do something there too

i made a wiki entry on the city's lug page
http://www.gtalug.org

really, any ideas you have, please share because i have none left

thanks!

word of mouth is a good way... you probably want something cheap... how about leaflets given to the local computer store to hand out?
