f_count of file structure

I was writing a charecter device driver. when i open char device node & try to print the f_count of that node, the count was 2 instead of 1. but when i made dup() or fork () the count was 3.
The concepts says that f_count is the number of file descriptor pointing to the file structure.

why it was 2 when only one file descriptor is open in user space?

is there any system file descripter who is pointing to that file structure for smooth processing?

can i trace the process id who is pointimg to a perticular file structure?

Hi amit,

you know why you have not got an answer yet to you r questions. It's because you have posted the questions in the LUG forum. Please careefully read the forum descriptions before making posts in them.

This is to ensure that you find the right answer as quickly as possible. Now please don't make the same post in another forum. This thread has been reported and will be moved to an appropriate thread.

Regards,

Amit

I just realised that you had made the same post some time back in the WQnS forum and again I had reported and it was moved to the Programming forum.

And again, you post the same question but this time in the LUG forum. Please take care the next time and do read the rules
