Zip program with encrypting function

Unfortunately, there has no zipping program been delivered with my linux distribution (SuSE 9.3) that would be capable of encrypting its zip files. Is there a Linux program that has the function I mentioned? The best solution would be a program that is both available for Linux and Windows.

ThanX
