Question Yum Updater help


Guys,
Can somebody tell me how can I install the yum updater (or apt can do same) in my RH9.0 server? I need to get the rpm of it to install. also a repository for the updates and packages... In centos i used it. also in vyatta. and i liked it... but in RH, i cant. Any help will be highly help me...

i think nobody can help with your rh 9 since that o/s no longer supported

i suggest you backup the data and transfer to new install centos

Support for RH9 was dropped in 2003(?). There have been no updates for it since that time. Since you are familar with Centos (and it is free$) I would strongly suggest that you migrate to a supported version.

As above, the old RH Linux series is long dead https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/RHL.
Currently we have RHEL https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikiped...terprise_Linux (which requires a paid subscription) and Fedora https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikiped...ting_system%29, which is basically the free R&D version of RHEL and unstable.
As Lazlow said, your best option is Centos https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Centos, which is a free version of RHEL.
