Question Yum - Same Updates Available At Different Times

Hi.

Hopefully a quick question...

I'm working with two very similar RHEL8 server, one is dev/training and the other is production. For yum, they are configured the same except for on line in yum.conf to exclude java* updates. They have the same repos. What's been happening is that on one server, 'yum check-update' reports that there are updates available. On the other, the same exact updates might not be available until hours later. Sometimes they're available to the production server first, other times the dev server first. What's the delay between servers?

Thanks.

Steve

Does yum configuration for the repos use mirrorlist or metalink?
Code:
egrep '^(mirrorlist|metalink)=' /etc/yum.repos.d/*.repo
Then they may pull updates from different mirrors that get synced to the master repository at different times. This link is for Fedora, but it nicely explains how metalink and mirrorlist work.
