yahoo messages on thunderbird are two dots and a time stamp

I got freepops setup with thunderbird 2.0.0.6. I got the yahoo account configured and it downloaded my yahoo inbox. The message summaries show a dot on the left, middle, and a timestamp on the right. If you click to open one of the messages there is no text; it is all html code. Has anyone seen this before and know where to find the solution?

thanks
