Is there a better audio player for Linux or is xmms pretty much the standard??
I cant get it to work cuz when i try to ./configure it says cant find GLib-1.2.2 but i have the most current version installed, matter of fact i cant even get to the dam xmms website, when i try it just locks up. Someone dosnt want me to use xmms, lol.
Originally posted by BajaNick Anyone know how i can get around XMMS/GLIB ./configure problem?
You say you have the latest version but do you have the version that its asking for? If it is installed, where is it located and is it in your users path that your compiling with?
Posting exact errors will usually give you better replies
Its asking for version 1.2.2 and i have version 2.2. I dont know how to make sure its in my path or put it in my path, I checked the XMMS website and it says it needs 1.2.2 or later so i figure the newer version should work. I have already posted the exact errors i am getting in another post so I didnt want to double post.
Umm.. install the other version.. don't always assume if you have newer versions they are backwards compatible in Linux, cause quite frankly, they aren't like in this case.
Regards.
PS. Where is the other post, cause if you didn't want to double post, well, you technically already did since you brought this up in your first post in this thread. You should know better and we've gone over this several times with you starting pretty much the same discussion in multiple threads.
