xine engine error "no channels.conf"

Morning.

Hopefully someone can help me here with my dvd playback with xine. I have had it previously working numerous times but nowdays xine reports

Quote:
There is no input plugin avalable to handle 'Sorr, No Channels.conf found'. Maybe MRL syntax is wrong or file/stream source doesn't exist.
and then
Quote:
(sorry, no channels.conf found)
When I try playing dvds but all over video types I have tried work fine. I have since recently upgraded xine lib 1rc7 to 1rc8 and xine ui 0.99.1 to 0.99.3 but even after going back to the previous releases I had it still doesn't work.

The error message reminds me alot of that error when you assign the default dvd playback device incorrectly, I've check that all out and its all fine and how it was when it did work a few weeks ago.

I have the following libaries installed
libdvdcss 1.2.8
libdvdnav 0.1.9
libdvdread 0.9.4
libiconv 1.9.1

I did a search around but I got nothing helpful in the search results.
