xine command line? or some other command line only engine?

Can xine be run as a command line player, i.e., with no gui whatsoever? Are there other good engines to do this?

You can use xine from command line too, just remove your xine-ui package, and install libxine or something like that. To be sure, mark the libxine package for installation, and as a dependecy conflict it will tell you to remove xine-ui. If it is not that packege, than search for the one that wants to remove xine-ui.
