XFree86 Problems

I'm using RedHat 9 and i'm running it on a HP Pavilion ZE4427wm laptop.

I dual boot with XP and everything has been running fine.

But, I made the mistake of changing the video card config from Vesa to the ATI drivers.

Needless to say I can't get into X anymore.

But the odd part is, when I run config on X it's fully automated and doesn't let me manually set it back to Vesa. Is there a command I can use at root to switch the drivers?

Thanks.

My webpage

http://users.actrix.co.nz/michael/radeon9200.html

Has some instructions for forcing a re-install of the default XFree86 radeon drivers. I can't promise what worked for me will work for you. But if you want to give it a go read the section titled:

"Detailed instructions for setting the ChipID"
