Xfree alternatives

Prompted by the recent XFree4.4 non-free license issues I'd like to start a thread here listing alternatives to X that people can use:

slashdot article here

Someone posting early should summerise the links. I may do it if I have time.

Here's a start:

MetroX (redhat)
Accelerated-X (costs money)
http://www.fresco.org/ (not at all ready yet)

Semi-alternatives:

SVGAlib
directfb
DDI
GGI

And some more articles:

osnews
another, older slashdot article
os news license article
os news freedesktop xlibs released
.org / xfree reform

:edit:

Answer = http://xorg.freedesktop.org/

Thanks for the info. I had no idea they reverted Mandrake 10 back to XFree 4.3 over this issue. Looks like I'll be sticking with MDK 9.2 for a while then, or switching to another distro that uses XFree 4.4, maybe the next version of SuSE.

I emailed the free software foundation, about this issue, (they have an email addres, where they help you to understand different license. I think it too will interest them, if a part of there system is going non-free) and will post there replie as soon as i get it.
