xchat, ksirc, bitchx - they won't give me øæå!


I've installed RH 8.0 telling it I use a norwegian keyboard (which includes the characters øæå). And it works everywhere, except for all IRC programs I try!

what's the deal here ..

Hello

I dont no if this is the solution but you can try.

Add
LC_CTYPE="no_NO" in your /etc/sysconfig/i18n.

You need to reboot or exec the file.

I have the same problem, but in open office, æ ø å appears as: æ ø Ã¥
I have add the text: LC_CTYPE="no_NO" in /etc/sysconfig/i18n. but it didn't seams to work.
I use fedora 2 on kernel 2.6
