Debian Crashes at Xwindows
This is my first install of debian and it seems that most of everything went smoothly except for a few things,
1) Debian cannot find my ethernet card, I tried installing almost every module that it has and nothing worked [macronix mx98715 family fast ehternet adapter acpi]. I tried installing with a "dummy card" and that seemed to get me past that point in the install. How can I fix this?
2) When I actually get to the login screen (x style) I try to login either as root or as a user and x crashes at the periphreal stage. But before that, my screen has a 1/2 inch thick line of messed up pixels. I think something is wrong wiht the display and that is why it is not booting.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me to actually login to x windows and then fix my card so I can run "APT"?
thank so much in advance.
