wxPython install issue...
well.... Id like to run Soulseek on my Slackware box (9.1). The Pyslsk site tells me i need Gtk+ 1.2, Python 2.2 or newer, and wxPython 2.4.1 or newer (Gtk port). Umm, i think i have the first two. So anyways, i download wxPythonSrc-2.5.1.5. Thats good right? I do that whole ./configure, make, make install process, and everything whizzes by all nice and dandy. Then after make install, this text appears at the terminal......
The installation of wxWindows is finished. On certain
platforms (e.g. Linux) you'll now have to run ldconfig
if you installed a shared library and also modify the
LD_LIBRARY_PATH (or equivalent) environment variable.
wxWindows comes with no guarantees and doesn't claim
to be suitable for any purpose.
Read the wxWindows Licence on licencing conditions.
DOH! what the h*ll is that! Did I install a shared library? How do i run Idconfig? its not in the current directory or in my PATH, which I have no idea how to change anyways, the PATH that is. so yeah how do I modify LD_LIBRARY_PATH (or equivalent) environment variable ? Any clearing up on this would be much appreciated. Lemme know if i left anything out that you need to know... Thanks guys.
