Working with SDL(TrueType Fonts)

Hi,

For the last couple of days i've been trying to make a sentence with SDL via TTF. I've found a Windows tutorial on this with code and have compiled it and it and ran. The example uses Courier fonts and i'm using some TTF font from my Linux system that I named courier so it matches the filename the program uses. I even made the font color extra bit so someone could see it. It should display in the upper left corner and nothing is there. When I got home i'll try changing the background color and see if I see anything. I could tell its loading the font but the issue must be because the black color background might match the text if its black.

Sorry no access to code at the moment. I've got to do some changes before I post it

bye
George
