Hi.

I had mandrake 10.1 installed with the default kernel (2.6.8.1), with which my winmodem driver worked. Now i've compiled the new kernel 2.6.11.1
I try to recompil the Winmodem driver (i have to) but it doesn't work. I tried puting in the kernel the option with which i can install modules for other kernels but it still doesn't work.

I have a Intel 537EP WinModem and the source code drivers from intel. The drivers are for version 2.4.x and 2.6.x but they were created before the kernel 2.6.11.1 was developed. I know i'm compilling well because i'm doing exactly the same i did with the older kernel

I want to know if there's another driver for my winmodem or a generic driver which could work with the new kernel.
If there's no way i can get it to work i will have to use the older kernel i guess..

I've heard that the driver for smart link modems works on others. It's called slmodemd and you can find it on the web-site of smart link(google search).

I don't know anything about your driver.
